ROSS Service Coordinator

The Montgomery County Housing Authority (MCHA) Pennsylvania is seeking a ROSS Service Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ROSS Service Coordinator will work directly with public housing residents to assess their needs and link them to supportive services that:

Enable residents to increase income; Reduce or eliminate need for welfare assistance; Make progress toward housing self-sufficiency; Elderly/disabled will be linked to supportive services that enable them to age/remain in place avoiding more costly forms of care.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

This grant-funded position is subject to federal budget appropriations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Social Work, Gerontology, Counseling or Psychology preferable. At least five (5) years (preferably more) of relevant work experience in social service delivery for low-income adults, senior citizens and and/or people with disabilities; Knowledge of procedures and eligibility for federal and applicable state entitlement programs; legal liability issues relating to providing Service Coordination; Knowledge of mental health issues, aging process, elder services, disability services, drug and alcohol abuse; Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources for adults, senior citizens and/or non-elderly people with disabilities available in the local area; Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and accurately collect and report necessary data as required by Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Standards for Success Data Integrity system; Demonstrated ability to provide communications in a manner that is effective for persons with disabilities and persons with limited English proficiency (LEP); Knowledge and expertise in professional writing, public speaking, digital media, community outreach, and community organizing; Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products, basic office equipment, Internet and email, copier, telephone; Requires frequent travel throughout the County to work at various sites; duty station to be determined; valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance; Ability to get along and work effectively with others; Other duties as assigned
