PUBLIC NOTICE
The Montgomery County Housing Authority (MCHA) provides affordable housing to low-income families, senior citizens, veterans and individuals with disabilities. The MCHA will be accepting ONLINE Pre-Applications beginning: 01/15/2016 for the Public Housing Program.
The Pre-Application can be accessed 24 hours per day at the MCHA’s website located at: www.montcoha.org Click on “Applications” and choose the “Public Housing Program Pre-Application” link.
Pre-Applications are NOT available at any MCHA main offices or development offices and can only be submitted ONLINE. Applicants who do not have access to a computer may visit any public library in Montgomery County to access the internet.

The Public Housing Program Pre-Application is FREE! Applicants should not pay any agent, handler or service provider any fees.
Applicants must qualify as an individual or a family and meet certain criteria, including but not necessarily limited to:
- Head of household must be at least 18 years of age or an emancipated minor under state law;
- Entire household must have an annual income that does not exceed the applicable income limits established by HUD, at the time of admission;
- All household members 18 years of age or older, must pass a criminal background check;
- All household members must never have been convicted of drug-related criminal activity for manufacture or production of methamphetamine on the premises of federally assisted housing or a register sex offender with a lifetime ban;
- At least one household member must meet HUD requirements on citizenship or immigration status.
